Half the team live locally. The other half work remotely. Today is the day to bring everyone together. By the time everyone was in the room for their connect day near Leeds, the challenge wasn't getting people there - it was getting them talking to each other.

A personal touch I like to bring into sessions is a short two-minute meditation right at the start, just to share the technique and give the room a moment of calm before the high-energy storm of drumming that follows. This particular group locked into it beautifully from the get-go. It's a small thing, but it does two jobs at once: it settles a room full of strangers before they're asked to do something new together, and it gives everyone a quiet reflection point to measure the day against, that stillness at the start against the buzz they're all feeling by the end.
